Currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Sociology. However, I approach my work as an interdisciplinary scholar committed to centering peripheral or marginalized scholarship, namely Black feminist thought, Caribbean intellectual traditions, and Black diasporic epistemologies. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Pennsylvania State University; my Master’s in Public Administration at University of Southern California; and I earned an Associates of Arts in Russian from Defense Language Institute.
My current research explores how Black cultural practices function as epistemological interventions for navigating colonial legacies and neoliberal forces. Across my work, I center embodied knowledge, lived experiences, and the political potential that emerge from the margins.
This site is an intentional space to share research, resources (i.e. annotated bibliographies, methodological techniques, etc.), and events.
Current Project
I am currently working on my dissertation, Embodied Resistance In The Wake of Commodified Blackness: Jab Jab in Grenada, a study of how Jab Jab in Grenada navigates the tension between the historical legacies of Black resistance and contemporary processes of commodification. This study will be accompanied by a documentary-style short film.
